As part of the grand celebration of UniPort@50 and the 35th Convocation ceremony, the University of Port Harcourt hosted a powerful command theatre performance that captivated and inspired. The event, held at the newly constructed University of Port Harcourt Arts Theatre, brought together a distinguished audience including management staff, former vice chancellors, deans of faculties, spiritual leaders, staff, students, and stakeholders of the university community

.The performance featured a compelling adaptation of Elechi Amadi’s classic play Concubine, brought to life by the University’s own Department of Theatre Arts. From the opening scene to the final curtain, the audience was spellbound by the rich display of talent, storytelling, and cultural expression.

The drama delivered a timely and resonant message: Love conquers all situations and circumstances. It highlighted the urgent need for love, peace, and unity among staff, students, and the broader University community. The performance underscored the priceless value of peace and the senselessness of conflict, leaving the audience with a renewed commitment to fostering harmony and collaboration within the institution.

As UniPort celebrates five decades of excellence, the command performance stood out not just as entertainment, but as a stirring reminder of the values that have held the University together—values that must continue to guide its journey into the future.
