The Chartered Institute of Directors Nigeria (CIoD) has announced the appointment of Dr. Taiwo Nolas-Alausa as its new Director General and Chief Executive Officer, effective August 1.

CIoD President Otunba Adetunji Oyebanji made the announcement in Lagos on Friday, noting that Nolas-Alausa succeeds Mr. Bamidele Alimi, who completed his second and final four-year term on July 31.

Describing Nolas-Alausa as a seasoned learning and development consultant, Oyebanji said he brings more than 22 years of progressive leadership experience across Africa.

“His extensive background in human capital development, strategic planning, and leadership training makes him an invaluable asset as we continue to promote corporate governance, ethical leadership, and executive development in Nigeria and beyond,” Oyebanji stated.

He expressed confidence that under Nolas-Alausa’s leadership, the institute would solidify its role as a trusted voice in Nigeria’s business environment and a model of boardroom excellence.

Nolas-Alausa previously served as Director of Business Education Services and Training at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He also held the role of Regional Head of Learning and Skills Development (West Africa) at ISON Experiences, where he delivered training for major clients including MTN, Airtel, and Union Bank.

His cross-sector experience spans telecommunications, finance, education, oil and gas, entertainment, and small business development.

An academic and author, Nolas-Alausa holds a PhD in English and Comparative Literature from Babcock University, a master’s degree in International Relations and Strategic Studies from Lagos State University, and bachelor’s and master’s degrees in English from the University of Lagos.

He now assumes responsibility for advancing CIoD Nigeria’s strategic goals, enhancing member value, deepening stakeholder engagement, and championing governance reforms.
