Head Coach of Edo Queens Football Club, Moses Aduku, has set his sights on continental success, declaring his ambition to win the 2025 CAF Women’s Champions League and retain the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) title.

Aduku shared his aspirations during a media parley in Benin on Thursday, expressing strong determination to make history on the African stage.

“I’m a coach who thrives on challenges and always seeks to break new records wherever I find myself. Having conquered Nigeria twice, it’s time to bring home the CAF Champions League trophy,” he said confidently.

Correspondents report that Edo Queens, the reigning NWFL champions, dominated Group A during the abridged season with 11 wins, two draws, and one loss, sealing their group-stage supremacy with a 2-0 victory over Confluence Queens of Kogi.

The Benin-based team now heads into the Super Six playoff — the tournament that will decide the league champions — with strong momentum and a clear objective.

“It’s been a good season, but I’m not fully satisfied. Our goal is clear: win the Super Six and qualify again for the Champions League. We’re going to Ikenne with empty bags, but we’ll return with them full,” Aduku stated.

Edo Queens finished fourth in the 2024 CAF Women’s Champions League in Casablanca after winning the WAFU B zonal title, but Aduku remains focused on achieving even greater success.

He attributed the team’s progress to strong unity, solid technical support, and the unwavering backing of the Edo Sports Commission, led by Amadin Enabulele, as well as robust financial support from the state government.

“We’re ready and determined to make Edo people proud again,” Aduku affirmed.

Meanwhile, Edo Queens departed Benin on Thursday for Lagos, where they are set to face Osun Babes in the Round of 16 of the Federation Cup on Saturday. Following the cup fixture, they will proceed to Ikenne, Ogun State, for the Super Six competition.
