Adamu Janlong, the North Central Representative on the Board of the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF), on Thursday said that a three-day basketball championship is set to hold in Plateau.
Janlong told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the championship will dunk off from Feb.13 to Feb.15 at the Sports Hall, Rayfield, Jos, Plateau.
He said that the competition will bring out the best teams from the North Central Zone to compete for honours.
“The essence of staging this competition is to organise teams in the North Central Zone to compete and showcase their talents.
“We are very confident the competition will be a successful one as teams in this zone have been yearning for many years for a competition of this nature.
“We will also use the opportunity to give players the chance to compete and get noticed by scouts that will be coming around,”Janlong said.
NAN reports that the competition tagged “The North Central Invitational Championship will feature teams like Be ur Braves, FCT Rockets, Kogi Waves, Kwara Falcons.
Others are, Nasarawa Heats, Niger Potters, and hosts Plateau Peaks.
