The All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Northwest has ordered the closure of its Zonal Secretariat for three working days in honour of former President Muhammadu Buhari.

The decision, communicated in a statement on Monday by the APC Zonal Publicity Secretary, Musa Mailafiya-Mada, aligns with directives from the party’s National Headquarters as conveyed by the National Vice Chairman (Northwest), Garba Mohammed Datti.

“The closure of the zonal secretariat, starting from Monday, July 14, is to mourn the departure of the immediate past President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, from this celestial realm to the great beyond,” the statement read.

According to the directive, operations at the secretariat will resume on Thursday, July 17. The APC also directed state chapters within the geopolitical zone to observe the same period of mourning.

The zonal chairman called on party leaders, members, and the public to use the mourning period for sober reflection and intensive prayers for the repose of Buhari’s soul and the restoration of peace in the region and across the nation.
