Governor Hyacinth Alia has forwarded the first batch of commissioner-nominees to the Benue State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.
His Chief Press Secretary, Mr Tersoo Kula, disclosed this in a statement issued on Friday in Makurdi, stating that the move was in line with constitutional provisions.
Alia had earlier dismissed all 17 commissioners and his Chief of Staff on Wednesday.
According to Kula, the nominees include Theresa Odachi, Dr Benjamin Ashaver, Dr Margaret Adamu, Dr Peter Oboh, Dr Timothy Yangien, Mr Denis Iyaighgba, Mr James Dwem, and Dr Paul Ogwuche.
He noted that a second batch of nominees would be submitted to the Assembly in the coming days.
Kula added that the governor remained committed to transparency, competence, and inclusiveness in selecting individuals who would advance his administration’s vision for the state.
