In a bid to boost attendance at the Super Eagles’ 2026 World Cup Qualifier against Zimbabwe, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has announced that the first 500 fans to purchase tickets will receive free team jerseys.

The Super Eagles, fresh off a victory against Rwanda, are aiming for consecutive wins in the qualifiers as they take on Zimbabwe at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo on Tuesday. Despite the team’s recent struggles, there is renewed optimism under coach Eric Chelle, who began his tenure on a positive note.

To encourage fans to turn up in large numbers, the NFF, in a statement signed by General Secretary Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, urged Nigerians to come out in full support of the team.

“We are calling on Nigerians to come out in large numbers to support the Super Eagles on Tuesday. The team needs the support. When we played Rwanda in Kigali on Friday, the Rwandans filled up the Amahoro Stadium to its full capacity. Let our people also come out in throngs and cheer the Eagles,” the statement read.

The federation also appealed to fans to attend the match in Nigeria’s green and white colours to create an electrifying atmosphere in the stadium. “Let us fill up the stadium in green and white, and drum and dance to support the team,” the NFF added.

Ticket sales for the match will commence on Tuesday morning to prevent the circulation of counterfeit tickets. Prices have been set at ₦1,000 for regular seats and ₦3,000 for VIP access.

The match, scheduled for a 5 PM kickoff, will be played at the 30,000-capacity Godswill Akpabio Stadium, widely regarded as the best football venue in the country.
