Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, and Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa, have been nominated for the prestigious Women of Impact Awards.
The award, organized by the Arise Group, recognizes 65 women who have made significant contributions across various sectors, driving national development. The list of nominees was unveiled on Wednesday in Abuja.
Tinubu was nominated for her advocacy in women’s empowerment, while Musawa was recognized for her innovative efforts in leveraging Nigeria’s art, culture, and creative industries as economic tools for national growth.
Other nominees include Imaan Ibrahim, Minister of Women Affairs; Doris Uzoka-Aniete; Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs; and Jumoke Oduwole, Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment.
Also featured on the list are Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO); Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun; Amina Mohammed; Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan; and Ojinika Okpe.
The Women of Impact Awards ceremony is set to take place on March 30 at Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos as part of events marking the International Month for Women.
