Federal University of Environment and Technology in Ogoniland to Launch Operations at Kira Campus of Rivers State University

Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has announced the commencement of operations for the newly approved Federal University of Environment and Technology in Ogoniland. Following the official approval by President Bola Tinubu, the Federal University will begin its activities at the Kira Campus of Rivers State University (RSU).

During a recent visit to the Kira Campus in Tai Local Government Area, Governor Fubara assessed the condition of existing facilities and structures, confirming their readiness to support the new university’s operations. The governor emphasized that the recently renovated buildings and the expansive land available on the RSU campus will be sufficient to facilitate seamless learning activities at the Federal University of Environment and Technology.

Accompanied by notable figures including RSU Vice Chancellor Prof. Okogbule Nlerum, Tai Council Chairman Matthew Dike, and former RSU Vice Chancellor Prof. Barineme Fakae, Governor Fubara conducted a thorough tour of the campus. He stated that his visit was prompted by a request from the Office of the National Security Adviser, which underscored the importance of officially designating the campus for the university’s take-off.
