The Ogoni Dialogue Committee has announced the commencement of its grassroots consultations, marking a significant step towards building a more inclusive and sustainable relationship between the Federal Government and the Ogoni community.
As part of the ongoing initiative, the committee is organizing a town hall meeting scheduled to take place on *Saturday, 22nd February 2025, at the Gokana Local Government Council Secretariat, beginning at 12:00 PM.
The town hall meeting aims to bring together various stakeholders, including Paramount Rulers, Community Development Council (CDC) chairpersons, women’s leaders, and youth leaders, to collectively discuss pressing issues and chart a unified path forward for the Ogoni people.
In preparation for the meeting, the Ogoni Dialogue Committee has called on Paramount Rulers to hold immediate community meetings to gather inputs and develop a shared position on critical matters affecting the Ogoni community.
To facilitate an inclusive and productive discussion, the committee is also inviting memoranda or insights from the public, which can be submitted to the Ogoni Dialogue Committee’s email address, *ogonidialoguecommittee@gmail.com
