Nigeria Premier League: Remo Stars Shock Akwa United, Plateau United Win in Match Day 20
In the 20th Match Day fixtures of the 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League, Remo Stars FC pulled off a stunning upset by defeating Akwa United FC 2-1 at the Uyo City Stadium on Sunday.
In other matches, Heartland FC continued their impressive form by defeating Lobi Stars FC 1-0 at the Ogbene Stadium, courtesy of an own goal from Lobi Stars FC’s goalkeeper in the 25th minute. Plateau United FC also won their home match against River United FC by a score of 2-1, with their goalscorers netting in the 18th and 45th minutes.
Meanwhile, Kwara United FC, Kano Pillars FC and Bendel Insurance FC were not so fortunate as their home games against Shooting Stars FC, El-Kanemi Warriors FC and Enyimba International FC respectively were postponed due to unforeseen circumstances.
