The Rivers State House of Assembly led by the factional Speaker, Martin Amaewhule has issued a 7-day ultimatum to Gov.Siminalayi Fubara to represent the 2024 budget to the house.
The FCT Minister’s factional speaker, Amaewhule gave the autimatum,on Monday during a sitting by the lawmakers in Port Harcourt.
The News Agency of Nigeria NAN, recalled that the factional house was sitting for the first time for some months after the Pronouncement of the Gov.Fubara factional lawmaker, Victor Oko-Jumbo as the speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly.
NAN recalled that Gov. Siminalayi Fubara had earlier presented the budget to the factional house loyal to him led by the then speaker Edison Ehie who is currently the Chief of Staff Edison Ehie to the Governor.
Ehie and the other pro-Fubara lawmakers passed the budget estimates, which was signed into law by Gov.Fubara.
The Governor noted that the budget was aimed at promoting economic development, inclusive growth, and addressing socio-economic inequality in the state.
