The Chairman of Port Harcourt City Local Government Area, Ezebunwo Ichemati, has committed to utilizing council funds for the development of the community. He made this pledge while inaugurating a newly completed canteen for the Post Graduate Students Association at Rivers State University, which he funded.
Represented by the council’s Vice Chairman, Wendy Tim-Kalio, Ichemati emphasized his determination to extend support not only to the residents of Port Harcourt City but also to institutions within the area.
During the event, Professor Nlerum Okogbule, Vice Chancellor of Rivers State University, commended the council chairman for his vision in enhancing the canteen’s facilities, recognizing its potential impact on the student community.
Additionally, Sokari Minapakate, President of the Post Graduate Students Association, expressed gratitude to Ichemati for his swift response to their request for assistance, highlighting the positive impact of the new canteen on students’ welfare.
