Rivers State University Celebrates 36th Convocation with 8,920 Graduates

Rivers State University has successfully concluded its 36th convocation, celebrating the graduation of 8,920 students who earned their first degrees, master’s degrees, and PhDs.

Vice-Chancellor Nlerum Okogbule highlighted the institution’s accomplishments over recent years during the convocation ceremony, emphasizing significant progress in areas such as security, scholarships, grants, and other initiatives that have propelled the university forward.

Retired Justice Mary Odili, pro-chancellor and chairman of the university’s governing council, reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to developing quality graduates who can contribute meaningfully to society. She assured attendees that the university would continue its relentless efforts in this regard.

Additionally, Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara reiterated the government’s commitment to fulfilling its funding obligations to the university. He was represented at the ceremony by his Deputy, Prof. Ngozi Odu, who echoed the governor’s pledge to support the institution’s growth and development.

The convocation not only marks a milestone for the graduating students but also underscores the ongoing dedication of the university’s leadership and the state government to enhancing educational standards in Rivers State.
