The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State has condemned the recent congresses held by a faction led by Tony Okocha, labeling the initiative a “waste of time.”
Darlington Nwauju, the spokesperson for the APC in Rivers State, expressed strong disapproval, asserting that proceeding with congresses despite a court order prohibiting such actions is a direct affront to the judiciary.
Nwauju stated, “The decision to conduct congresses even after a court has barred them shows a blatant disregard for the rule of law.”
He further clarified that there is no dispute over the leadership of the APC in Rivers State, emphasizing that Beke Beke is the only legitimate chairman of the party in the region.
This statement from the APC comes amidst ongoing tensions within the party, as factions vie for dominance ahead of upcoming electoral contests.
