Rivers State Electoral Commission Ad-Hoc Staff Confirm Receipt of Allowances Amid Payment Controversy

Some domestic observers and ad-hoc staff of the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) who participated in the recently held local government area (LGA) elections have confirmed that they have received their allowances from the commission. This statement directly counters claims from certain sources alleging that these individuals were owed their stipends.

In a collective statement, the group clarified that all individuals and organizations involved in the electoral process had been fully compensated according to the agreed terms of engagement.

Speaking on behalf of their peers, members Samuel Aliete, Nekabari Dumbo, College Odu, Daminabo Briggs, Uzodima Nwuche, and Solomon Jumbo expressed surprise over the allegations of non-payment, labeling them as unfounded.

“The allegations regarding unpaid stipends are baseless. We want to commend the RSIEC for its diligence and commitment to maintaining electoral standards,” they stated. “All stakeholders, including domestic observers and ad-hoc staff, were treated fairly and respectfully throughout the process.”

The group’s remarks aim to clarify the situation and reinforce confidence in the integrity of the electoral commission’s operations.
