A 50-year-old car dealer, Ibrahim Kambro, has been arraigned before a Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly defrauding a man of N6 million.

The defendant, whose address was not disclosed, faced charges of fraud and breach of peace but pleaded not guilty.

According to the prosecutor, ASP Edet Ekpo, the offence occurred between October and November 2024 at Ajara, Badagry, where Kambro allegedly obtained N6 million from one John Bawa under the pretext of purchasing a Ford Transit bus on his behalf.

Ekpo said the defendant also acted in a manner likely to cause a breach of peace by creating public disorder.

He noted that the offences contravene Sections 314 and 168 of the Lagos State Criminal Law, 2015.

Chief Magistrate Nurudeen Layeni granted the defendant bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum, one of whom must be a community leader with two years’ tax clearance.

Layeni adjourned the matter until Oct. 16 for mention.
