The Police Command in Ondo State has confirmed that irate youths attacked the wife and son of a traditional ruler on Friday at Idogun Community in Ose Local Government Area.
Correspondent reports that the assailants targeted the wife of Oba Moses Bakare, the Onidogun of Idogun, and his son, Prince Victor Bakare.
It was gathered that the incident took place at Ishara Quarters of Idogun when the prince visited his parents to join the New Yam Festival celebration.
DSP Olushola Ayanlade, spokesperson of the command, confirmed the attack to journalists, assuring that police would unravel the circumstances behind the incident.
“Yes, the prince and his mother were attacked by irate youths. The case is under investigation and we are leaving no stone unturned in ensuring that justice is served,” he said.
Prince Bakare, speaking on the matter, said the youths inflicted injuries on him.
He further alleged that his mother was humiliated when the attackers stripped her half-naked, poured urine and other substances on him, and physically assaulted the monarch.
