John Nwosu, candidate of the Africa Democratic Congress (ADC) for the Nov. 18 governorship election in Anambra, has congratulated Nigerians on the country’s 65th Independence Anniversary.
In his message, Nwosu, a technology expert, lauded Nigerians for their courage, resilience and indomitable spirit over the past 65 years.
He expressed confidence that despite the challenges, the nation’s future would be brighter, fairer, better and more prosperous.
According to him, Nigeria can only attain its full potential when equity and justice form the foundation of national values, stressing that every citizen must be equal before the law.
*“True independence means equity in employment, fairness in representation and justice in governance.
As a nation that is vastly polarised by bigotry and divisive rhetoric, we must find ways to mend.
I add my voice to the call for the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, not just as a gesture of reconciliation, but as a bold step towards healing, dialogue and unity in our country.
A nation cannot prosper while parts of its people remain in anguish.
Let this 65th Independence Day inspire us to rise above divisions; to demand fairness and build a Nigeria where justice flows like a mighty river and progress knows no tribe, no creed and no boundary,”* he said.
Nwosu added that if elected governor, his administration would prioritise balanced development, job creation, youth empowerment and digital innovation.
He said a technology-driven security system would be deployed to guarantee safety, while e-governance platforms would be adopted to promote transparency, efficiency and accountability.
*“We will build a new Anambra that is productive, innovative, exemplary and above all, true to its comparative advantage in all sectors.
We must return to the era of setting the pace for what Nigeria can truly become,”* he said.
