A 43-year-old man, Rasak Odobudu, has been arraigned before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court for alleged assault, threat to life, and breach of peace.
Odobudu was brought on a four-count charge after allegedly conspiring with others still at large to commit the offence on July 15 at Oribamiwa Estate Phase II, Ibeju Lekki, Lagos.
The prosecutor, SP Josephine Ikhayere, told the court that Odobudu and his accomplices assaulted two men, Murtala Shakirulahi and Lawal Surajudeen, causing facial and bodily injuries.
He was also accused of threatening to kill the victims after they allegedly refused to give him money at the estate gate.
Ikhayere added that Odobudu’s actions disrupted public peace within the community, in violation of sections 411, 173, 56, and 168 of the Lagos State Criminal Law of 2015.
Magistrate L. A. Owolabi granted the defendant bail in the sum of N500,000 with sureties in like sum, subject to verification, and adjourned the case until Oct. 7 for further hearing.
