The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Kano State says it has apprehended a 28-year-old man for allegedly defrauding a woman of N1.8 million.
The corps spokesperson, Ibrahim Idris-Abdullahi, said the suspect, a resident of Kawo area in Kano metropolis from Garko Local Government Area, allegedly lured the victim with promises of better education and profitable business ventures.
“The suspect used local charms to deceive his victim, a married woman, into parting with her hard-earned money amounting to over N1.8 million,” he said.
Idris-Abdullahi added that investigations have been completed and necessary legal action will be taken against the suspect. He reiterated the corps’s commitment to protecting the public against fraudsters and other criminal activities in the state.
