In a remarkable show of generosity and commitment to education, 55 students of the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) have been awarded full scholarships for the 2025/2026 academic session. The scholarships, provided by Engr. OluwaMuyiwa Nelson Kosile in partnership with the University, will cover school charges while also providing stipends for the beneficiaries.
The initiative aligns with the university’s vision of ensuring that “no student should be left behind to drop out because of inability to pay school charges.” At the scholarship award presentation, emotions ran high as many recipients shared heartfelt testimonies about how the support has brought much-needed relief to their families.
Represented by Mrs. Mabel Okoro, Engr. Kosile urged the beneficiaries to remain focused, work hard, and excel academically to make themselves and their families proud. His commitment underscores the vital role of private partnerships in strengthening educational opportunities for Nigerian students.
Vice Chancellor, Prof. Owunari Abraham Georgewill, commended Engr. Kosile for his unwavering dedication to the cause, praying for God’s blessings upon him, his family, and his business. He further encouraged the beneficiaries to take full advantage of this opportunity and uphold the university’s standard of excellence.
This gesture marks another milestone in UNIPORT’s drive to support students, demonstrating that when individuals and institutions come together for a noble cause, the ripple effect is felt across families and the wider community.
