Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Italy have disowned one Mr. Prince Ibezim for allegedly parading himself as the party’s chairman in the country.

In a statement on Wednesday in Abuja, Mr. Iredia Osakue, a leader of APC in Italy, speaking on behalf of members, urged the public to disregard Ibezim’s claims.

“We wish to draw the attention of the general public to the fact that a certain Mr. Prince Ibezim, who resides in Rome, has been parading himself as chairman of APC Italy without proper or legal authorisation,” Osakue said.

He stressed that Ibezim was not the recognised chairman, describing his actions as false, unauthorised, and illegitimate.

Osakue challenged Ibezim to present any official document from the APC national headquarters in Abuja confirming him as Italy chairman, or evidence that he had ever been received in such capacity by the national chairman.

According to him, the disclaimer became necessary due to Ibezim’s alleged involvement in anti-party activities aimed at undermining President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and sabotaging APC’s progress in Italy.

He called on the party’s national leadership to take steps to address the alleged misrepresentation and ensure only duly authorised officials whose names were registered with the party headquarters were recognised.

“Our legitimate leadership remains committed to upholding the values and principles of APC. We look forward to continued collaboration with the national headquarters in a transparent and authentic manner,” he added.
