President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday inaugurated the Lafia flyover and underpass, a project valued at over N16 billion, during his one-day working visit to Nasarawa State.

While inaugurating the interchange, President Tinubu commended Governor Abdullahi Sule for prudent resource management and his administration’s commitment to improving the lives of the people.

“Thank you very much. May God bless the state. I therefore commission the project,” the President said.

Governor Sule, in his remarks, expressed appreciation to the President for visiting the state and inaugurating projects executed by the state government.

“This is the first project that you are going to commission for us. It is a combination of an underpass and a flyover covering one kilometre,” he said.

He added that the project was completed within one year due to the federal government’s economic reforms and the state’s determination to deliver quality infrastructure.

“We have paid the contractors 100 per cent without borrowing one naira because of your reforms,” the governor noted.

The flyover and underpass have been named the Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu Interchange.

The visit marks President Tinubu’s first official tour of Nasarawa since assuming office in 2023.

Other projects scheduled for inauguration include the dualised 5-kilometre Shendam Road, a modern state secretariat complex, tractors and operational vehicles for security agencies, and official vehicles for traditional rulers.
