As part of his plan to combat illegal immigration and drug smuggling, President-elect Donald Trump announced that he will impose new tariffs on China, Mexico, and Canada starting on the first day of his presidency.

In a statement, Trump declared that upon his inauguration on January 20, he will sign an executive order implementing a 25% tariff on all goods imported from Mexico and Canada.

Additionally, he stated that a 10% tariff will be imposed on goods from China until the Chinese government takes measures to curb the smuggling of the synthetic opioid fentanyl into the United States.

This move highlights Trump’s commitment to addressing the issues of drug trafficking and immigration as he prepares to take office.
