The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has unveiled the statistical analysis for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results.
The statistics, released on Monday via the board’s official X handle, revealed that out of the 1,955,069 candidates who took the examination, over 1.5 million scored below 200 points.
The data further showed that only 420,415 candidates scored above 200 points, with 756 achieving scores exceeding 320. Additionally, 7,658 candidates scored between 300 and 319 points.
In the report, it was noted that 40,247 underage candidates were allowed to showcase their abilities. However, only 467 (1.16 per cent) of these candidates met the exceptional ability threshold for the UTME, with their performance in the next three stages still pending.
Regarding examination conduct, 97 candidates were involved in infractions, while 2,157 others are under investigation for suspected malpractices. The analysis also highlighted that 71,701 candidates were absent. Candidates facing biometric issues are also under investigation, and those cleared will be rescheduled for exams at designated centres.
Additionally, results for blind candidates and those in the JAMB Equal Opportunity Group (JEOG) are still being processed. The JEOG was established by the Registrar and CEO of JAMB, Prof. Is-haq Olanrewaju Oloyede, in 2017 to enhance access to higher education for individuals with disabilities.
