The Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) SOROH, under the Central Naval Command, in collaboration with other security agencies, has conducted a show of physical readiness in Bayelsa State.

Speaking during the exercise on Saturday, the Commander of NNS SOROH, Commodore Omobamidele Akinbami, stated that the operation aimed to assess the preparedness of security agencies in protecting lives and property in the state.

The security agencies involved in the exercise included the Nigerian Navy, Nigerian Army, Nigeria Police Force, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigeria Immigration Service, and the Nigeria Correctional Service, among others.

“The headquarters has directed the Nigerian Navy Ship SOROH to carry out a show of force under the Central Naval Command,” Akinbami said.

“This also serves as reassurance to the peace-loving people of Bayelsa that security agencies are ready to protect them. Once the state governor calls upon us, we will be ready to act, ensuring their safety and the security of their goods and property.”

He emphasized the commitment of security forces to maintaining peace in Bayelsa and extending it across the country.

The commander also urged security personnel to exercise caution while carrying out their duties and to foster an atmosphere of peace and confidence among the people.
