The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ondo State has deployed 1,200 personnel and 20 patrol vehicles to ensure smooth and safe movement during the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations.

State Commander Dr. Samuel Ibitoye disclosed this in an interview on Saturday, stating that officers and special marshals had been strategically positioned to provide 24-hour rescue services before, during, and after the festivities.

According to him, five ambulance vehicles and power bikes will be stationed at critical points, including Ikare-Akoko, Owo, Ilara-Mokin, Ondo, and the Ore-Lagos highway.

Ibitoye noted that the command would also conduct advocacy campaigns through radio and television, urging motorists to use the FRSC Mobile App for easy navigation.

“We are deploying over 600 officers and men across Ondo State, alongside 592 special marshals, making a total of 1,200 personnel.

“All officers will be stationed at strategic locations to enforce road safety rules, respond to emergencies, and ensure smooth traffic flow,” he said.

He further highlighted the FRSC’s collaboration with other security agencies, including the Police, NSCDC, NDLEA, DSS, the military, and the Fire Service, as well as the Federal Ministry of Works, to manage traffic diversions at construction sites.

“Our goal is to prevent accidents and ensure uninterrupted traffic flow for Nigerians traveling during the period,” Ibitoye added.

He urged motorists to be patient, avoid speeding, overloading, and drunk driving, and adhere to road safety regulations to ensure a crash-free celebration.
