Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State has called on All Progressives Congress (APC) governors and party appointees to actively promote the party in anticipation of the 2027 general elections. Uzodinma, who serves as the chair of the Progressives Governors Forum (PGF), made this announcement during a special Iftar and Lent dinner in Abuja on Wednesday.
The event aimed to foster unity among party members in government and facilitate discussions on national progress, irrespective of their individual roles at the national or state levels. Uzodinma highlighted that gatherings like this provide valuable opportunities for party stakeholders to come together and pray for the unity and development of Nigeria.
“The success of this government is our collective success. We are all marketing officers who must promote this administration and our party,” he stated, emphasizing the need for party members to take pride in their affiliation with the APC. He urged them to remain focused on their responsibilities, even amidst various distractions.
Uzodinma expressed gratitude to party members for their unwavering support of President Bola Tinubu’s administration. He reassured attendees that the government’s economic reforms are poised to guide the country toward positive outcomes. “The administration’s economic reforms are steering the country in the right direction and already producing positive results,” he affirmed.
In his remarks, Senate President Godswill Akpabio expressed confidence in the APC’s chances for victory in the upcoming elections but stressed the importance of prayer for Tinubu to successfully deliver on the ‘Renewed Hope Agenda’ for the nation’s benefit.
Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alh. Mohammed Idris, underscored the dinner’s role in promoting unity during the seasons of Ramadan and Lent. He reiterated the APC-led government’s commitment to ensuring good governance for all Nigerians, acknowledging the initial challenges of implementing economic reforms while asserting that they are now yielding positive results.
The event was attended by lawmakers, serving and former APC governors, National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, presidential aides, ministers, APC National Working Committee members, and various other stakeholders, marking a significant gathering of the party’s leadership in support of its agenda for the future.
